Smallwood residents are asked to be mindful of bears as there have been many reported sightings.
Notice to Post Office Box Holders All residents of Smallwood can maintain a PO Box at no cost, providing they fill out a required form that is to be inserted in their boxes every year. If your box has been inactive you may not have been aware of this requirement and therefore your box “may be closed” or “has been closed already”. Filling out a forwarding form would also be helpful for those who are in the area for a limited time. If you need further information, see Postmaster Candy.
The Friends of Toronto are pleased to announce the opening of the public access to the Toronto dam recreation area. Drive all the way down Pine Grove Road to the Woodstone gate, turn right and follow road, with a left turn at one point, to the parking lot. (The public is reminded to the left and right of Pine Grove Road is private property.)
The Toronto Dam Recreation Area is a beautiful spot, and we encourage use of it.
The Friends of Toronto are going to hold a grand re-opening on Saturday, May 26 after the Civic General Meeting. We invite all to car pool down to the Toronto Dam site and take a group photo with the American flag.
