Smallwood Lake, also known as Mountain Lake, was originally man made. The lake water is regularly tested and deemed safe for swimming and boating. The water level is controlled by the Association via a dam by the swimming area. During the cold weather months, the water level is lowered to allow for sufficient quantities of plant life within the lake to freeze and thereby controlled. It also prevents the beach area from being washed away. In late spring, the water level is again allowed to rise. During the hottest part of summer it is natural for the lake's plant life to bloom thus creating green debris in the lake.

Parking is permitted by the Beach and Boat Launch only. No overnight parking please.
