PROPOSED CHANGE OF AMENDMENT
ARTICLE XI—AUDIT AND REPORTS
SECTION 1
In January of each year, accounts and financial records must be sent to a Certified Public Accountant for a Compilation of the financial statements for the previous year to issue an opinion on the accuracy of the Associations annual financial statements. A summary of that report will be sent to all members by way of the Associations first publication of the new year, no later than March.
At the same time the entire Financial Report along with copies of the treasures ledger for that year will be sent to an internal auditing committee. This committee will consist of one Board member and two members in good standing selected by the Association president for an “Internal Audit”. This committee may investigate for potential theft or fraud and ensure compliance with the Associations Constitution & By-Laws, regulations and policies.
Any irregularities found by the internal audit will be presented to the entire Board of Directors for review. Any matters reported other than “potential theft or fraud” and disregard of “Associations Constitution & By-Laws, regulations and policies” may be questioned by the Board and returned to the Internal Audit Committee with a recommendation that they be removed. Regardless of whether they are removed or not, the report will be read at the next General meeting. At that time the Board’s recommendation will be noted. If the report is favorable to the association by a show of hands the internal audit report will be finalized. If the report is voted unfavorable a mail ballot will be initiated and sent to all members in good standing to decide if we shall have a audit by a Certified Public Accountant.
